We are a worshiping community that is authentically Roman Catholic and worship within the rich traditions of the African American culture. Our mission statement simply says that, "we are a praying, praising and growing church." Worship is central to us. We believe that it is our worship, receiving the Holy Word of God and the Holy Eucharist that empowers and enables us to act justly, to build up the Kingdom of God, to feed the hungry and to encourage the sorrowful. Yes, we enter our church building at 697 Keel Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee to worship but we leave ready to serve God and the greater community!

We invite you to visit our church and if you do not have a church home, we invite you to consider joining our household of Faith. We have a special care and concern for the "spiritually homeless." At Holy Names Catholic Church we like to say that we are "small enough to know you and big enough to serve you !"
